Employee Assistance Program (EAP) near Boston, Massachusetts

Addiction can happen to anyone, and it shouldn't cost you your job. We work with employees, employers and EAP providers to get people the treatment they need while protecting their career and privacy.

What an Employee Assistance Program does

Chemical dependency is a treatable condition, not a reason to lose a job. At GBAC, we work with employees, employers, unions and family members to get people the treatment they need while protecting their livelihood. We offer individual therapy, group counseling and evidence-based addiction treatment, with scheduling that’s sensitive to work hours and professional obligations.

Protecting your job while you get help

Ignoring a substance use problem may work for a little while, but it eventually affects job performance, relationships and health. At GBAC, our goal is to work in collaboration with employees, employers and family members to restore wellbeing in both work and life. Programs available through EAP referral include:

What we treat through EAP

We treat opioid, alcohol, cocaine, methamphetamine, benzodiazepine, marijuana and polysubstance use, alongside co-occurring mental health conditions. If substance use is affecting your work, health or relationships, reaching out is the first step.

Questions about eap

What is an Employee Assistance Program (EAP)?

An EAP is a workplace benefit that connects employees to confidential counseling, addiction treatment and mental health resources. GBAC partners with employers and EAP providers across Greater Boston to coordinate care.

Will I lose my job if I seek treatment through EAP?

Employees are protected by federal laws like the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and GBAC keeps your EAP participation confidential.

Can I keep working while in treatment?

Many people continue working while in our evening IOP, which provides intensive therapy outside normal work hours.

Does my employer need to know details about my treatment?

No. EAP referrals are confidential. Your employer may know you're using the benefit, but not the clinical details, unless you choose to share them.

Does insurance work alongside an EAP referral?

Often, yes. EAP services can connect you to treatment that your insurance then covers. Our admissions team coordinates both so care is affordable and simple to start.
