Evening Outpatient

Evening Outpatient Program in Massachusetts

Our evening intensive outpatient program, sometimes called night treatment, is for people who have commitments during the day but need structured addiction treatment. It's often a good fit after completing a higher level of care, or after a relapse.

Addiction recovery that fits around your day

As with any outpatient program, there are trade-offs. The advantages of evening treatment include being able to continue with work and school, stay connected to family and friends, live at home instead of at a treatment center, and return to your own routine at the end of each day.

Why people choose evening outpatient

You can keep working or going to school. Residential treatment can provide a strong foundation for early recovery, but it requires putting daily life on hold. Evening outpatient lets you keep up with school, work or family obligations while you work on recovery.

You stay connected to your support network. Support from family and friends matters for long-term recovery, and staying at home makes it easier to hold onto those relationships during treatment.

It costs less than residential care. Evening outpatient is far less expensive than full residential treatment, while still providing structured, effective care.

Questions about evening outpatient

Who is the evening outpatient program for?

People who want to keep up a daytime routine, whether that's a job, school or family responsibilities, while still getting structured addiction treatment. It's also a common option after a relapse following earlier treatment.

How is this different from standard IOP?

It's the same intensive outpatient level of care, scheduled in the evening instead of during the day, so it doesn't conflict with work or school hours.

Can I keep living at home?

Yes. You attend evening sessions and return home, or to sober housing, the rest of the time, which keeps you connected to your support network.

Does GBAC offer gender-specific groups?

Yes. While not every part of the program is separated by gender, we offer gender-specific group therapy because many clients ask for it directly.

What does evening outpatient cost compared to residential care?

Evening outpatient is generally far less expensive than full residential treatment, while still providing a structured program for recovery. Exact cost depends on your plan, so we verify your coverage before you start.
