Addiction Treatment Programs
Recovery isn't one-size-fits-all. We offer every level of care from medically supervised detox through standard outpatient, built around your substance use history, your mental health, and your daily life, not a fixed track everyone follows the same way.

Not Sure Where to Start?
If you're not sure which substance or which level of care applies to you, this is the place to start.
Levels of Care, Most Structured to Least
Most people move through more than one of these as they stabilize. Your care team adjusts as you progress.
- Inpatient Treatment24/7 medical and clinical support, away from daily triggers.
- Residential TreatmentA structured, home-like setting for several weeks to a few months.
- Day Treatment (PHP)About 5–6 hours a day, 5 days a week, and you go home at night.
- Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)About 3 hours a session, 3–5 days a week, morning or evening.
- Outpatient Program1–2 sessions a week, the lightest level of structured care.
Other Ways to Get Care
Treatment doesn't have to mean coming to Needham every day, and it doesn't end when a program does.
- Virtual TreatmentThe same licensed care, delivered by secure telehealth.
- Sober Living & Outpatient SupportStructured housing paired with IOP or outpatient treatment.
- Medication-Assisted TreatmentFDA-approved medications combined with therapy, for opioid and alcohol use disorder.
- AftercareOngoing support once the most intensive phase of treatment is behind you.
Specialty Programs
Programs built around who you are, not just the substance.
- All Specialty Programs
- Veterans ProgramTrauma-informed care built around your service history.
- Men's Addiction TreatmentA program focused on the pressures that often drive men's substance use.
- Women's Addiction TreatmentCare that accounts for trauma, caregiving, and other factors specific to women.
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Confidential treatment for working professionals, coordinated with your EAP.

The Therapies We Use
Every level of care above is built out of specific, evidence-based therapies, not just a schedule.
Mental Health Alongside Addiction
Many people in treatment are also managing a mental health condition. We treat both together, not one after the other.
